Survive The Night Claim a House and Start Building
Claim an available house in Survive The Night, place a starter Crossbow near the door and turn an empty base into a defense with match income.
To start building in Survive The Night, follow the introductory walkthrough and claim an open house. Follow the claim with a Crossbow near the door and a Farm or Money Printer so the new base can defend itself and fund improvements.
Choose an Available House
Look for a house that is available to claim and complete the claim interaction there. The important result is having a base where you can begin the opening defense. Do not make the first session depend on finding an imagined best house position.
Separate this step from optional collection goals. Hatching a pet or browsing rare tower choices does not replace claiming the house you are about to defend. Get the base working first, then choose whether a later collection purchase adds something useful to your play.
Turn the Claim Into a Working Defense
- Place the starter Crossbow near the doorway.
- Add a Farm or Money Printer to generate match Coins.
- Watch how enemies affect the entrance.
- Raise the door tier when it blocks a useful structure upgrade.
- Use manual Repair when damage threatens the door.
| Choice | Purpose | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Claim completed | You have a defense base | Place the opening Crossbow |
| Attacker working | Enemies receive damage | Add recurring income |
| Income established | Later upgrades become affordable | Watch the door before spending |
The order gives each purchase a purpose. Your attacker addresses enemies immediately, while your income building helps pay for later defense. Buying another structure is a decision to make after you see what the opening lacks, rather than a reason to delay putting the first attacker in place.
Make Your First Purchases Count
If the doorway is already taking heavy pressure, stabilize it before putting all your available money into extra economy buildings. If it holds, improve income toward the next useful purchase. This turns the house claim into a repeatable opening instead of a series of unrelated clicks.
Avoid comparing your unfinished opening with another player's larger collection. Start with the structures you can use, then improve the specific weakness that appears during the run. A straightforward base that keeps its entrance defended is a better learning platform than an ambitious layout you cannot yet fund.
