Survive The Night Beginner Guide: Your First House Defense
Start Survive The Night with a claimed house, Crossbow and income building, then decide when your door needs repairs or another upgrade.
Start Survive The Night by claiming an open house, placing a Crossbow near its door and building a Farm or Money Printer. This gives your opening a defender and a source of match Coins; your next job is keeping the entrance alive while the defense develops.
Get Your First Defense Running
Follow the introductory walkthrough to claim an available house. Put the starter Crossbow near the doorway, where it can contribute to the fight at the entrance. Add an income building rather than filling the entire opening with attackers that leave you unable to afford later purchases.
Think of these as three different jobs: the house gives you a base, the Crossbow removes enemies and the income building helps pay for improvements. A working opening needs all three. Collection purchases can wait until you understand which part of that defense is struggling.
Spend on the Next Weak Point
| Choice | Purpose | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Door taking damage | Keep the entrance alive | Repair and reinforce defense |
| Useful upgrade locked | Meet its door-tier gate | Upgrade the door first |
| Stable opening | Fund later purchases | Improve Farm or Printer income |
Watch what happens at the door before making the next purchase. If enemies are gathering there, more income alone does not solve the immediate problem. Strengthen the defense and use repairs when the entrance is taking damage. If the doorway is holding comfortably, improving income gives you room to pursue the next useful structure purchase.
Door tier also gates higher tower and economy upgrades. When it blocks the purchase you want, upgrade the door and return to that purchase. This is more purposeful than buying several unrelated upgrades simply because you can afford them.
Stay Ready When the Door Takes Damage
Use manual Repair under enemy pressure. Repairs support survival while your attackers deal with the threats; they are not a reason to stop improving damage. Keep your attention on the entrance rather than spending the whole fight browsing collection options.
For your first runs, change one weak point at a time. If the same opening lasts longer after a door or attacker upgrade, you have a useful adjustment to repeat. Once the opening feels manageable, compare the tower roles or learn more about door upgrades.
